EFWA is here until poverty isn’t. Our members and volunteers run seasonal campaigns to fight for members’ basic necessities all year round. Join us!
Winter Survival Campaign
January - March
Help End the Winter Death Toll!
Collect blankets, jackets, scarves, hats, gloves and boots for members and their children
Collect safe space heaters
Collect high-protein foods: canned meats (halal and non-halal), beans, lentils
Collect soups and starches (rice, maseca, oats, potatoes, flour, spaghetti)
Join the Winter Watch phone tree to keep in contact with members in vulnerable situations
Join the winter canvass campaign to reach members and potential members in their homes, where many risk no-heat situations or other emergencies
Spring Expansion Campaign
April - June
April is the cruelest month - you can help
Collect rain gear and waterproof boots that returning migrant row crop workers will need in inclement weather, and with muddy, wet fields to protect their clothing
Collect 10 lb bags of rice, bags of beans, tomato products, seasonings, cooking oil, maseca and dried chiles to assist returning farm workers
Sign up as a bilingual volunteer
Begin supply drives for fans, air conditioners and other items to help members keep cool in the heatwaves to come
Host speaking engagements in your classroom, house of worship, club meeting or other assembly to spread the word
Summer Survival Campaign
July - September
Help Beat the Summer Heat
Join Summer Survival canvasses and go door-to-door in low-income neighborhoods where members have invited EFWA to sign up new members
Join camp crews to reach workers on the farms who work in high heat
Collect and distribute water, brimmed hats, light-weight long-sleeved shirts, sunscreen and personal hygiene items
Collect and distribute fans, window AC units, dehumidifiers and swamp coolers and their supplies
Advocate to stop utility shutoffs
Collect and distribute Back-to-School supplies for EFWA’s annual Back-to-School Benefit

October - December
Help make the holidays
a joyful season
Help organize a Trick-or-Treat for Farm Workers food drive and a Safe and Sane Halloween party
Collect and distribute costumes for member families enrolled in a participatory budget-saving program
Collect turkeys and all the fixings for Thanksgiving Turkey Baskets and deliver them to members in nine counties
Collect toys and holiday food for Holiday Food Baskets
Organize a Family Holiday Party for member families
